Reward...for Missing Mancard

Yes, I am going to keep harping on my missing Mancard!

The other day it really hit me hard, I really am missing my Mancard. Why you may ask?

Let me set the scene
I was sitting in the living with all four kids. Rocky (the youngest at two years old and the only boy, more on him later) was crawling all over me like a baby spider monkey clinging to its mother's back. Cassie (the second oldest at ten) was sitting on the floor talking to me. Addison (obviously the third oldest at six) was playing around on her tablet on ABC mouse talking about makeup. (Yeah, you are starting to get the picture)

Well, Ella was sitting at my feet pondering life and how things were going to be different in 6th grade. Here's the kicker! I was braiding her hair! Not one big braid into a pony tail. Several small braids across her head. And guess what?? They were tight with no stray hairs poking out. It was amazing!!! I turned to look at Addison and Cassie who also had the small braids in their hair. Amanda, their mom, had braided their heads, at that moment I realized something. My braids were almost as good as my wife's!!!!!

What???? That can't happen can it? I didn't think so. It gets worse... we started talking about nail Polish and what colors we liked. Yes, I was a major part of this conversation as I had been the girls canvas on well more than one occasion. At that moment I had a full body shudder so bad I almost pulled Ella's beautifully maintained hair.

It was so scary I had to find a man movie. I am talking about full on action where the good guy is kicking all the bad guys butts. So being the generation I am I settled on Lone Wolf McQuade. Chuck Norris taking on the whole world with just cowboy boots and a single 9mm.

Well as you can expect I didn't quite finish the movie and happened to look down at the tattered remains of my Mancard and the very semblance of my life as a stay at home dad.

I will not give it up for anything b/c I love my rotten kids...even though they make me wear nail polish and possibly in the future blush and eyeliner.

Have you dads ever had that overwhelming feeling of losing your manhood??? YEAH, ME TOO!!! At Least Use Your Hands

I could write a book about my kids. After all they are the inspiration for this blog. Mind you it would be poorly written but light hearted. I have given examples of my crazy family and my antics conveyed through all four of my kids. Sometimes I think they are animals and my reactions to them are what really surprises me. This is one of those moments... Amanda, my lovely, beautiful wife, Rocky and myself are eating at a restaurant.(a guilty pleasure while the other kids are at school) Rocky the big boy likes to feed himself and we let him. No restraints for this kid. He is constantly moving about with food in his hands and all over me.( I don't remember eating that. How did macaroni get on my pants?) Rocky was eating his macaroni and I look over and he is lapping it up like a dog..... Yes, here it comes... "At least use your hands!!!!!" Really??? That actually came out of my mouth. Do I really look that stupid?

So this morning I was getting the kids ready for school. "What? No way!!! Not you wayne!" Yes me, hence my quirky title "Diary of a Stay-@-home Dad!" So this morning like many mornings when they think I am not paying attention, Cassie hits me with out of left field questions. I am sure this crazy girl expects me to swing and miss and catch myself up..... Not today junior. The question of the morning was. "Hey dad, you know some kids do things to try and get out of going to school. As a kid did you ever do something like that when you were my age???" Really??? Do I look that stupid? So what did I do? I lined that ball straight and smacked it as hard as I could and watched her tumble head of heels like Charlie Brown after he threw that pitch. Ironically enough she was half dressed when asking me this. I am just glad the questions are easy enough to hit....so far. Seriously though do I really look that dumb to my kids??? Have a nice day
